Tampere University of Applied Sciences is located in the city of Tampere, 180 kilometres north of the capital city, Helsinki. Tampere is the largest inland city in Scandinavia and the centre of the second largest economic area in Finland. The city of Tampere has a population of 200 000 inhabitants and there are half a million in the Tampere
Region.
There are five higher education institutions in Tampere, and as much as 20 % of the city's population are students.
Travelling to Tampere is easy due to its international airport and good road and rail connections to Helsinki.
